I buy A LOT of watches through Amazon.... That being said, I also have very high standards. This watch is fantastic in almost every way, except one (which is a sticking point for me in many watches, more on that later).

Pros:

Design-it is a fantastic looking watch with a large, easy to read face. I've received compliments already in the 2 days I've worn it. Coloring of gun metal and a "gear" shaped bezel gives it a very "industrious" look. The white hands make it easy to see in all lighting conditions.

Build-It's built very tough. As a watch I plan on wearing in more of a daily sense, I've already smacked it around quite a bit and knocked it on some things. I can tell it'll hold up well.

Timers and buttons-Easy to use and buttons are solid.

Cons:

Right from the box, the seconds hand is offline by about 1/4 second. This is a huge complaint I have on many watches. Watches are meant to be PRECISION instruments, and it baffles me how a manufacturer doesn't seem willing or able to make what is probably the easiest and most visible aspect of the watch at least APPEAR to be precise. How can one trust that all the unseen inner workings of the watch are precision if something as simple as the seconds hand can't be put on to line up with the marks on the face?

As much as that is a sticking point with me (obviously), I didn't knock off more as sadly, this is the case on many watches these days, even ones costing hundreds of dollars.

For starters, I have wanted a fossil watch for years. Over the years I loved the look of these watches, and heard great stories from friends. Knowing what they paid, and back then never really being the kind of person that would pay (especially a semi decent amount) for a watch and wear it regularly I never really committed. The tides have turned... this was a great deal to me knowing what these watches go for.
I received the watch in a metal tin, with some cards and on a plastic, paperish band display. I set the time, played with chronograph and everything worked. I’ve had it for about two weeks or so now, and have had to reset the time on it twice.. but that was in the beginning, and one time I think was my fault because of movement and not having the dial in all the way. I noticed that on the second time around when resetting the chronograph the second meter only returned to about 7 seconds as a 0 point rather than actual 0...... I read the cards as this does not come with an instruction manual, and turns out you can register your watch with fossil and the instructions for each watch are online. After reading through, I realized that I had pressed some buttons in a sequence that cause it to set that way. I reset the chronograph and time and date (again, read the card it comes with and register your product) and since then, for over a week, it has been running fabulously. I did have to have 2 links taken out as my wrist is about 8 to 8.5 inches. I can’t speak of water resistance other than washing your hands, and I like this watch too much to test it out on a dive (although the dial does have the turn capability of a divers watch). I did give the timer function a 5 star as it has worked great since everything has been reset, so we will see how long it holds good time. Overall, a great, decently heavy, rugged and classic looking time piece.

It's a man watch. Its all black, no lights, no other colors. Makes sure that's what you really looking for before you buy. I owned a fossil similar to this one not all black out, great watch and gave it away as a gift after I had it for over 5yrs. Fossil makes great men watches.

I purchased this watch as a college graduation gift for my boyfriend. The product photos are impeccably accurate, but the beauty of the timepiece really stands out in real life. The details in this design really make it; I chose this one over other models because of them. I was also considering the hybrid smartwatch model, but the battery life of this one is longer, and I like the look much much more. The face is slightly textured, the numbers are enlarged for prominence, and the minute and hour hands are color-blocked. The smoky gray/black is stunning, smooth, and matte. My boyfriend loves the coloring and design, which is cool, because I felt like it fit his personality. The face is 24mm, so it is prominent on his wrist. It looks like a man's watch. Also, he has a rugged job and rugged interests, so the stainless steel make was important to me. I purchased the additional protection plan by Asurion as well, and for the price, I think the coverage is great. It is a nice supplement to the Fossil warranty.
We had to take a couple of links out of the band, but that was easy and typical. The closure seems to be holding up, but the pins may loosen and detach at bad times in the future. We can't tell yet, but we anticipate it as a common problem with this style band.
Delivery was amazing--it came earlier than I expected. It was packaged in a small box in the usual Fossil tin box, but the lid of the tin had come off. The watch was not loose in the package or damaged, however. We plan to take it to a Fossil store nearby, because Fossil will engrave it for free if you do, which is cool. I wanted it engraved if he liked it, and I thought I would have to pay a local jeweler. If you are considering this product, I absolutely recommend it. My boyfriend and I love love love this watch!

I like the watch. Seems rigid and durable, i've had other fossil watches before and they last. I didn't test the water resistance but it keeps time. My only grumblings is that it's a bit big, which is ok, but the shipping packaging was an envelope which had the box arriving banged up and deformed (which is a pity i was actually going to use it), luckily no damage to the watch, but also no instructions for setting time or using timer and the random third dial which turns out to be a 24h clock. Good watch, just a bit carefree in terms of last minute shipping details.

After a short 18 months with this watch it has completely fallen apart. It started with both the timer and stop watch buttons getting completely stuck and refusing to work. I figured I could live without them. Then a couple of days ago we had to turn the time back by an hour. I pulled the main dial out slightly to adjust the time and the whole dial mechanism came apart in my hand. The watch maker told me it would cost roughly the value of the watch to fix. I never swam or bathed with this watch on nor have I dropped it or taken part in any extreme sports with it on. I can only conclude its a manufacturing defect.

Fossil has never disappointed me when it comes to watches and this watch it not an exception. The overall design matches the photos and the face; albeit somewhat too big for my liking is perfect for its style. IF i had one complain about it is that the numbers and the hands could have been a little bit luminescent as you couldn't really see them that well on a poorly lit room or when outside during the evenings. But overall, this is a great product, worth every penny I've spent and would definitely recommend.

I bought this watch as a birthday present for a friend's 30th birthday. It came in a trendy metallic box and looks great. I'd looked at a number of Fossil Watches, including in the Fossil Store in London and this one was by far the stand out. It is quite chunky, so keep that in mind, however the back of the face which is not quite white but more eggshell makes the black numbers and brown strap look good. I would absolutely recommend this watch - I know it's a bit more expensive than the others from the Nate range on Amazon, but I think it's worth it.
